The long-held school tradition ‘Stuff the Bus’ is coming back next month. On the week of December 2nd, AISB students will fill up bags with food staples and send them off to people in need in the village of Berceni. Everyone is invited to participate!
What is Stuff the Bus?

Stuff the Bus is an annual event hosted by service group M.A.D. (Making A Difference). It began more than 20 years ago when the PTO started working together with the Romanian “Second Chance” foundation. Later, it developed into a student-led activity.
M.A.D. aims to let the villagers of Berceni know that there are plenty of people who care about them. Through this activity, AISB students can show support and empathy towards local communities in need.

How will it work this year?
On the week of November 25th, younger students (ECE through 7th grade) will receive bags from their advisors. The rest will have to pick up a bag from the service-learning office (next to the high school lobby) to participate.
Each bag will include a list of things to buy, which should cost around 90-100 RON in total. Students can also bring their own bags from home. Make sure to purchase only the items mentioned on the list to keep it fair for all families of Berceni.

From December 2nd, students can drop off their bags in their advisory rooms. The collected bags will be put on a bus and brought to Berceni on the 6th, where they will be stored in the community center of Berceni. The local police and the mayor will distribute the bags to the villagers during the annual Christmas party.
We hope that you’ll participate in this year’s Stuff the Bus, and make Christmas a little nicer for the people of Berceni.
