On May 27th, AISB hosted its most anticipated event of the year: graduation. After many months in quarantine, Zoom classes, hybrid models, CAS projects, IA’s, mocks and final exams, the seniors were ready to walk the stage and receive their diplomas.

While our graduates were getting dressed in their caps and gowns, teachers, staff and family members filled the seats beneath the large, temporary cover on the football field. The sun shone like a spotlight on the graduation stage.

Soft murmurs were heard in the crowd as countless emotions ran high. The anticipation and nerves of the future. The pride and excitement to finish this chapter. The feelings of fear. The feelings of relief.

Then, the well-known melody of Pomp and Circumstance by Edward Elgar began playing through speakers, signaling the start of the graduation ceremony for the Class of 2022.

As a returning student from AISB’s Class of 2021, I was happy to join the audience, and brought my camera to capture the seniors’ big day.

The senior processional, which happened before graduation, is something every student looks forward to: a celebration with the entire AISB community—from ECE kids to 11th graders.

Family, teachers and staff applauded the students as they made their way to their seats.

The audience enjoyed a musical performance by 9th graders Alexia D, Megan L, and Smaranda M before the ceremony started.

Seniors carefully listened to wise words from AISB Secondary Principal, Mr. Novakovski.

Seniors waited with anticipation to receive their diplomas.

Students cheered on their classmates as they became graduates.

Congratulations to the Class of 2022. You did it!

Proud parents recorded their children, hoping to relive these moments in the future.

Moments of gratitude fill the air, as students hug their friends and parents.

Family reunited to celebrate the recently graduated alumni.

Smiles of joy filled the football field as proud family members celebrate the big occasion.

On behalf of the entire team behind The Bite, we would like to congratulate the seniors, for all their hard work and dedication. You have achieved a great milestone. This is only the beginning for you. We wish you the best of luck and many more successes in the future.

Now, enjoy the well-deserved summer break! 🙂
