Grade 6 student Emil S. has only been at AISB since January 2025, but has already adjusted to the system and is a confident and hard-working tennis player.
What follows is Emil’s story, in his own words:
Yeah, I really love tennis, I think I’ve played it for three or four years now. Although I haven’t really had too many exciting experiences with tennis, even though I’ve played in clubs in Bulgaria and Romania, I’ve never played in a tournament. I hope to be able to make either SCIS or CEESA teams for tennis because I would like to be able to experience a tournament like that, and I think I will be successful with making one of the teams. I’m not saying that I’m the best, but most of the other people there aren’t as good or experienced, since for me, four years is pretty experienced and quite a lot of time. And, I enjoy playing tennis, so yeah. For most of my time playing tennis, I have practiced in Bulgaria. Last year, when I moved to Romania, I joined a club, but I change places quite often. I’m not in a club right now, but I was actually thinking about joining one, but I am waiting for the season of CCA tennis to end so that I don’t have to do double tennis practice, since that would be quite difficult. I also like to play table tennis, but that’s more just like a hobby that I do with my family, and I use the skills I have learned from tennis. Still, I don’t take it as seriously as I do with tennis, as tennis is my main focus at the moment, but it could very well change in the future.
