Grade 6 student Eva S. recently spoke to The Bite about how she enjoys trying anything new as well as the changes of social life moving from Elementary to Secondary School at AISB.

What follows is Eva’s story, in her own words:

I enjoy trying new things a lot. Food, anything. So, for example, whenever I go traveling, I don’t want to try burgers or something that you eat every day, or that you can eat anywhere. I like to try their traditional food that you can only eat there. And not just new food, but also activities. For example, I was scared to go rafting, but my parents booked an activity, so I still went. And it was really fun.

Then Eva talks about different experiences in countries, that she traveled to, especially Morocco:

Morocco had so many new things. Like camels, and the climate was so different. We stayed for two nights at a camp in the desert, and they had all the different types of foods. They had this peanut butter that wasn’t really peanut butter [Amlou]. But it was like their traditional food. And it was really good.

Finally Eva talks about how she changed in terms of her social life, moving from Elementary School (ES) to Secondary School (SS):

I’m friends with a lot more people of different genders [in SS compared to ES]. I used to not be friends with anyone who was a boy. I used to have less friends and a smaller friend group because I wanted to keep it that way. But now I want to get to know other people, and people from different grades want to be friends with me, even though I’m a 6th grader, or because I’m small. They actually want to get to know me.
