As a teenager, what could possibly be better than having breakfast at noon? With all these late nights studying, in addition to social gatherings, we all need something to calm us down. So, with our mental health in mind, we visited some of Bucharest’s top brunch places and had some lazy Sunday afternoons eating avocado toast and drinking coffee. Here were some of our favorite spots.
Rio Juice
Tucked into leafy lane in Dorobanti is one of the very best places for healthy but delicious snacks. Rio Juice is known for specializing in Acai bowls (shown in the picture above), made with imported Brazilian fruits. From coffee (Brazilian, of course) to the best smoothie bowls and parfaits, this place offers healthy options for extremely reasonable prices. We sat outside on their deck, which was the perfect place to study, or just chill with a couple of friends. A place with great vibes and personality, filled with bright furniture and a comfortable wood interior.

M60
Located in one of the hippest areas in the city near Piața Amzei, lies M60, the perfect place for a cool relaxed vibe, some of the best coffee, and unbeatable dishes to start your day. With a variety of comfy seating options (pictured above), there’s everything you need for a Sunday study session. We ordered an incredible avocado toast followed by a moist, light carrot cake. All ingredients were fresh and local, with a good amount of gluten-free options. Order and pay at the bar, sit back and enjoy some good music, and a server will quickly deliver your food.

Simbio
This small, but extremely welcoming, homy restaurant offers everything you need after a long morning of walking through Bucharest’s old town. In warmer weather, the sunny courtyard filled with trees, plants and comfortable chairs is the perfect option (but make sure to book ahead!). On the inside is a cute cafe decorated with antique furniture, bright couches and the most perfect decorations adorning the walls. During our visit, we tried their Eggs Benedict and English Breakfast and we were definitely not disappointed. Their variety of fresh vegetables and great smoothie options made our morning.
